Wedding Fairs (Fayres?)

However you spell it, it's wedding fair season. I'll be exhibiting at two in Edinburgh during March, the Edinburgh Wedding Fair at the Corn Exchange and the Edinburgh Wedding Exhibition at the Royal Highland Centre. They can be a get a bit hectic at points but they're loads of fun and it's ace getting to meet lots of new couples and other wedding suppliers (I especially like getting some free cake samples!).

They're not everyone's cup of tea, but wedding fairs are an excellent way to explore what's on offer for your wedding. You'll get a chance to speak with potential suppliers, ask lots of questions, and a get some ideas for the kind of things you want for your big day - brill. There are usually a few wedding suppliers going for the hard sell but they're not to be intimidated by, just take it slow and enjoy looking around. The biggest mistake anyone can make is committing to a supplier for any reason other than loving the product that they offer; so just enjoy browsing and don't feel pressure from anyone. If you are expecting to visit a fair that I'm exhibiting at then definitely get in touch - it'll be great to meet up, and I'll probably be able to get you some guesties. :) See you there!

On a different note, here's a shot from my latest wedding - Juliet and Gerard's. More to come very soon.

New Year, New Weddings, New Blog!

Hello everyone – welcome to my brand new blog! Woo! 2013 was a great year for super lovely and awesome weddings, and this year is shaping up to be even busier with lots of you lovely Edinburgh (and beyond!) couples getting in touch to arrange your wedding photography. I recently shot my first wedding of the year, working with the amazing Elaine and Gavin at Edinburgh City Chambers – blog post with photos to follow soon – and have many more in the coming months (along with a couple of big wedding fairs and other wee bits of fun on the side). Now I've got a new blog I'll be sure to keep you up to date with all my goings on as they happen - really looking forward to sharing my work with everyone.

Since it's still winter and a wee bit cold and miserable, here's one of my favourite bad-weather-wedding shots from last year – because bad weather doesn't mean bad photos! This is a photo of Sophie and her Dad, which was taken outside Luss Church by Loch Lomond.
